ServSafe® is the industry standard for safe food handling certification and training. It satisfies local health department requirements to demonstrate food safety knowledge in 98% of jurisdictions nationwide*

Salisbury & Associates team members have instructed and proctored the ServSafe® program since 1998. With hundreds of classes and over a thousand certifications, we are the right company to handle your next safe food handling certification class and/or test.

We offer regularly scheduled courses & testing at our office in Northern Virginia; on-site training & testing at your facility of choice (only if your facility meets ServSafe® guidelines); six hour course and testing in one day; six 1 hour courses or one 6 hour course with testing on same or different day; and testing only.

Courses are scheduled for approximately 6 hours of instruction and 2 hours for testing. Students who choose to test on another day or who finish course and testing before 8 hours conclude may leave upon completion.

Courses include one day course instruction, study guide, practice test and ServSafe® exam. You may bring your own internet and wifi enabled device to test on for instant pass/fail results.

Testing Only is offered Mon-Fri, 10 AM to 2 PM at our office, except on days with full day courses scheduled. As space and computer access is limited, testing is done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Certificates: Students that take online tests and earn a passing score of 75% or above will usually receive certificates within 7-10 business days. Students that take the written exam will usually receive results within 7-10 business days and those that earn a passing score of 75% or above will usually receive certificates within 2-4 weeks.

Quality Assurance: Students that do not earn a passing score of 75% or above may re-take the test up to two times at a cost of $50 each time and may take the course for FREE until second re-take is not passed. Then they will need to retake the entire course and test at full price again (luckily this has NEVER happened in the past!).

At your facility and/or specific dates: Courses and/or testing for groups of 5 or more may be taught and tested on-site at your facility, only if your facility meets ServSafe® standards, or at our office on a day other than our regularly scheduled course. Ask for custom quotes for regularly scheduled and/or full year packages or if you are getting other consulting services we provide in addition to ServSafe® classes.

*some jurisdictions require an additional ID after certification by ServSafe®. In these Virginia jurisdictions you must also acquire Northern VA Food Manager Card: Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church.

**must pay a 50% non-refundable deposit and/or be paid in full at least 72 hours prior to instruction and/or testing. If not paid in full at least 72 hours prior to instruction and/or testing or for walk-ins, add $40/ea for Course & Testing or $25/ea for Testing Only.
