ServSafe® is the industry standard for safe food handling certification and training. It satisfies local health department requirements to demonstrate food safety knowledge in 98% of jurisdictions nationwide*

Salisbury & Associates team members have instructed and proctored the ServSafe® program since 1998.  With hundreds of classes and over a thousand certifications, we are the right company to handle your next safe food handling certification class and/or test.

We offer regularly scheduled courses & testing in Northern, VA; on-site training & testing at your facility of choice (only if your facility meets ServSafe® guidelines); classroom and testing scheduled to your needs (based on instructor availability); multiple classroom and testing options and times; schedule flexibility; courses and testing in English and Spanish; and testing only.

Courses are scheduled for approximately 6 hours of instruction and 2 hours for testing.  Students who choose to test on another day or who finish course and testing before 8 hours conclude may leave upon completion.

Courses include one day course instruction, study guide, practice test and ServSafe® exam.  You may bring your own internet and wifi enabled device on which to test for instant pass/fail results.

Testing Only is offered by appointment only at the end of a scheduled public class or at a mutually agreed upon facility.  Facility must meet ServSafe® guidelines.  As space and computer access is limited, testing is done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Certificates: Students that take online tests and earn a passing score of 75% or above will usually receive certificates same day or within 1 business day.  Students that take the written exam will usually receive results within 7-10 business days and those that earn a passing score of 75% or above will usually receive certificates via email within 10-12 business days.  Delays by ServSafe® are out of the control of Salisbury & Associates.

Quality Assurance: Students that do not earn a passing score of 75% or above may re-take the test up to two times in a year at a cost of $75 each time and may sit in on a scheduled class for FREE until second re-take is passed.  Then they will need to retake the entire course and test at full price again.

At your facility and/or specific dates: Courses and/or testing in English for groups of 10 or more may be taught and tested on-site at your facility if your facility meets ServSafe® standards or at one of our facilities on a day other than our regularly scheduled course.  Ask for custom quotes for regularly scheduled and/or full year packages or if you are getting other consulting services we provide in addition to ServSafe® classes.

ID Required: Please bring 2 forms of valid ID, including at least one with a photo of student.

Course & Testing Pricing:  Due to the high demand on our schedule, we are currently only offering classes for 10 or more or a minimum of $1,200 for up to 10 students using Option 1 Guidelines below.

Pricing options:

Option 1: Payment in full at time of registration or at least 4 weeks in advance.

Option 2: 50% non-refundable deposit paid at time of registration and paid in full at least 72 hours prior to course date.

Option 3: Walk-ins on day of course (if available) or if payment is not made in full at least 72 hours prior to course date.

*some jurisdictions require an additional ID after certification by ServSafe®.  In these Virginia jurisdictions you must also acquire Northern VA Food Manager Card: Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church.
